Internet at home and outdoor
To install the modem, follow step-by-step instruction to make sure that you have done all correctly.
Step 1. Installation of SIM-card
1. Remove cover from the modem.
2. Insert SIM card into the modem in right direction. Make sure that SIM card is tightly inserted.
3. Close the modem cover.
Attention: we recommend using the SIM card provided with the modem. Correct work of modem and software is guaranteed only with "Beeline" SIM.
Step 2. Connecting the modem with PC
Open USB cap and insert USB connector of the modem in any idle USB port of PC.
Step 3. Installing the application
Installation of the "Beeline" USB modem application starts automatically after a time. Wait installation program starts and follow its prompts. During installation do not disconnect the modem from PC.
If automatic installation fails to start, install it manually:
• Open Computer. To make it, double click the icon Computer on the desktop. If there is no icon
Computer on the desktop, press
Start in left
bottom corner of screen and find the icon
Computer in the drop-down menu.
• In the Computer window open Beeline disk.
On some PC due to
security settings no disk name can be seen. If no Beeline disk is found
in Computer, open newly appeared external disk (e.g. CD ROM (Е:)).
• In the appeared window find AutoRun.exe and run it.
• Then follow the installation program prompts and do not disconnect the modem from PC.
Application for USB modem Beeline
Start the application
for the Beeline USB modem. To make it, find icon on the desktop of your PC and double click it.

2. Service pane is used to choose services available in the current section.
3. Workspace is used to invoke the selected service.
4. Status bar shows:
• Internet connection status;
• Data sending and receiving speed;
• Cellular network connection status;
• Signal level.
Activation of start balance is required if you have installed the application of the Beeline USB modem for the first time and want to connect to Internet.
1.1 Enter the Account section in the main menu of the application.
1.2 Select Initial balance activation.
1.3 Press Activate button and wait for the system response on successful activation of start balance.
Step 2. Connecting to Internet
2.1 Enter the Connection section in the main menu.
2.2 Press the Connect button. In few seconds, your PC will connect to Internet.

On the desktop of your PC find the browser icon (for Microsoft® Windows® (XP, Vista, 7) it's usually Internet Explorer
denoted as ), and double click it.
2.4 After starting the browser, input www.beeline.ru in the address bar. If you see Beeline homepage in the browser, it means connection is successful.
If you have bought the
Beeline USB modem not in a mobile shop, then access to other web sites in
Internet except
www.modem.beeline.ru, will be
blocked until you register the contract by yourself (see step 3).
Step 3. Self-made registration (needed if you bought the modem not in a mobile shop)
3.1 After you successfully performed steps 1 and 2, input www.modem.beeline.ru manually in address bar of the browser and go to the Registration section.
3.2 Follow all the prompts to fill in all registration fields.
Within 30 minutes after registration is complete, you will get access to Internet.
Step 4. Disconnecting Internet
To disconnect Internet in the Beeline USB modem program, go to the Connection section and press the Disconnect button.
Note that:
Before using Internet, replenish your account for the amount not less than monthly fee.
Monthly fee will be deducted at night following the start balance activation day. Before that remote connection will be charged per Mb as per your tariff plan. We recommend you to start using your modem next day after activation of the start balance.
To pay for Internet access, check balance, change tariff plan or activate supplementary services, use services in the Account section in the application main menu. The following payment methods are available in the interface:
• using the Beeline cards;
• using the Mobile payment service;
• through asking for money from other subscriber;
• other payment methods see Payment methods section.
Payment for using the Beeline USB modem will be deducted from your account every month. You can use My balance service to control expenses and monitor Internet traffic left.
• Enter Account in the main menu.
• Choose My balance and press Check balance.
• Wait for the system reply on money sum on your account and Internet traffic left.
Defining SIM card telephone number
To pay for Internet, access to Internet system of Beeline service management and send SMS to your modem, you have to know telephone number of SIM card installed in the modem.
• Enter Account in main menu.
• Select My number and press Get my number.
• You will receive SMS on your PC with the telephone number of SIM card.
• SMS messages are in the Communication section on the SMS tab in the Incoming folder. Remember or write down the received number.
To enter this section, you need to input login and password.
• Enter Account in the main menu.
• Select Service management via Internet and press Obtain password.
• You will receive SMS with login and password on your PC.
• Use them to enter Internet system of the Beeline service management at the address https://uslugi.beeline.ru.
Note that:
The https:// prefix in the address is mandatory. It ensures that you apply your information via a secure protocol.
If your account balance has almost no money and you have no possibility to top-up your balance, you can request Trusted Payment. According to your request Beeline will temporarily top-up your account's balance and you will have up to 3 days to return this money back to Beeline!
To get Trusted Payment:
• Go to Account tab of USB-modem "Beeline" application.
• Choose Sign up for services.
• To the Request field, please, enter *110*12011#.
• Press Send button.
• After your request is successfully sent you will get an USSD reply and then have to wait for SMS notification.

Payment with the Beeline payment cards
• Buy one of the Beeline payment card of any nominal (you pay for mobile communication with these cards), erase protection layer.
• Enter Account in the main menu.
• Select Recharge card activation.
• In the Secret code field input all digits of the card secret code (with no spaces and hyphens).
• After number entry press Activate button.
• You will receive SMS about replenishment of your account with the activated sum.
Internet payment
Any time you can replenish your Beeline account or pay for communication
services for your friends with bank cards. Payment is performed on the Beeline
website. No registration is required. Money is accepted in online mode. You can
use bank cards such as VISA, MasterCard.
Using the Mobile payment
service
No need to go out to pay.
With the service of Mobile payment you can regularly pay any time through a convenient web-site menu. Now, it is possible for plastic cards owners of Alpha-bank, Russkii standard and VTB 24*. If you have any of the cards above, first register it through a cash machine of your bank.
Using cash machine
• Insert your bank card into a cash machine and enter PIN code.
• Select Payments, enter telephone number of your SIM card of the modem and payment amount.
• Get a cheque and save it.
Using Internet site of the bank
Most of banks allow their clients managing their accounts through web site including payment of Internet. To pay for the Beeline Internet, make as follows:
• Ask the bank issued you the plastic card the site address where you can manage your account.
• Enter the site and select Service payment in the Payment section.
• Select Beeline and enter your modem SIM card telephone number.
* Number of banks whose clients can free of charge replenish their balance using bank cards is increasing. For details and actual list of banks see www.beeline.ru > Mobile payment service, and Beeline distribution offices.
Payment by cash
In shops, petrol stations etc.
• Tell cashier your modem SIM card telephone number.
• After payment get the cheque and save it.
Payment in dealer’s offices and bank payboxes
• Obtain and fill in a receipt with your modem SIM card telephone number and payment amount.
• Get the cheque and save it.
Asking money from another subscriber
You can ask for money from another Beeline subscriber to replenish your account with payment card, by cash or money transfer from his account.
To ask money from another Beeline subscriber to pay for your account, make as follows:
• Enter Account in the main menu.
• Select Give me money.
• In the Subscriber number field enter number of the subscriber you want to ask for money to replenish your account. The number format should be without 8, e.g. 9034124060.
• After entry press Request.
• The request recipient will receive your SMS with the text: "This subscriber asks you to replenish his account". Regarding the request delivery you’ll be notified with SMS as well.
Note that:
You can ask for money from another subscriber maximum 5 times a day (a day
refers to time interval from 00:00 to 24:00, Moscow time).

To communicate with your friends use the services available in the Beeline USB modem program, Communication section.
If you often exchange SMS with certain companions, save their numbers in the contact list.
The Beeline USB modem provides advanced features and services which you can activate by yourself.

Changing tariff plan
Any time you can change your tariff plan for another one.

Restoration of lost
SIM card
You can get a new SIM card if blocked or lost the previous one.
Blocking SIM card
number
You can block SIM card telephone number if you lost your SIM card or plan not
to use the modem for a time.
You can find your modem configuration parameters in the Settings section. Do not change them without need. Before changing them, carefully read description of the parameters.
In the Settings section you also can change the program operation mode. The Light mode enables to connect to Internet and uses minimum resources of your PC for operation. In this mode, you can return to Basic mode.

Technical characteristics of the modem
• Operation in UMTS (900/2100 MHz) and GSM (900/1800 MHz).
• Data downlink rate in HSPA+ up to 21.6 Mbps and data uplink rate 5.76 Mbps.
• Data downlink rate in EDGE/GPRS up to 236 kbps.
• Connection status indication.

Notes to the system requirements:
· Improper system configuration may impair performance of your PC operation with the modem.
· For Windows XP it is recommended to install Service Pack 3.
· For Windows Vista it is recommended to install Service Pack 2.
· For Windows 7 it is recommended to install Service Pack 1.
Additional information:
To increase data rate and improve the modem performance, locate the modem in a
place with strong signal level, e.g. close to a window. For the purpose you can
use USB cable with length not more than 3 m.
• Treat carefully with the modem and SIM card, store them in clean places without dust, do not expose to fire or smokables.
• Always keep it dry.
• Do not drop, throw and bend the modem.
• Do not scratch or paint the modem.
• Do not try to disassemble the modem, otherwise warranty will be ceased. Only certified personnel may disassemble it.
• When using the modem, keep it at least 1.5 cm away from your body.
• Modem storage temperature: from -20°C to +70°C. Modem operation temperature: from -10°C to +60°C.
• Use certified accessories only. Do not connect the modem with incompatible products.
• Do not use the modem in the places where it may be dangerous or is prohibited to use it.
• To turn off the modem, first close all its applications and then disconnect from PC.
• When operating the modem, follow all local laws, instructions, regulations, signs and notes. Also, follow all signs related to usage of mobile handsets as they also belong to other wireless equipment including wireless data products.
• Turn off the modem in the explosive places. Sometimes PC may spark.
• Turn off the modem in the areas where blasting operation are being performed.
· Radio controlled devices with remote control are frequently used on sites to perform blasting operations.
• Turn off the modem in airplanes. Wireless devices can induce interferences for airplane equipment operation.
• Follow instructions and rules in hospitals.
· Turn off the modem near medical appliances. Wireless devices can create interferences in operation of peacemakers, implanted defibrillators and other medical equipment.
• Turn off the modem near hearing devices. People who use hearing devices can be exposed to interferences of wireless equipment.
• DO NOT ALLOW children to play with the modem. They can hurt themselves or other people, or damage the modem. The modem contains small parts with sharp edges which may be dangerous.
• Do not use the modem when driving a car.
• The modem is resistant to interferences induced by sound signals.
• Before cleaning the modem close all its operating applications and disconnect the modem from PC.
• Clean the modem with soft antistatic cloth.
• If the modem or any accessory does not work, contact the authorized service center.
Follow local utilization rules for package materials, old wireless devices and accessories. Please assist in their reprocessing.
Take safety measures to prevent electrostatic discharge when inserting or removing SIM card. Do not touch contacts of SIM card. For safety, always first take the modem and then insert or remove SIM card.
Restart after electrostatic discharge
SW will try to restore the connection if strong electrostatic discharge led to modem restart. If SW fails after electrostatic discharge, restart the modem program.
