Interface Introduction

Main Interface

The whole interface is divided into three parts. Related functions can be executed by operation in the related areas.

Explanations

The icon indicates the network signal intensity. There are 6 stages from none to the strongest.

The icon indicates the current network type, i.e. EDGE or GPRS, HSPA service.

Access mobile network

When you connect the modem properly, your modem will search the available network and attach it automatically. If you want to change the settings, please refer to the following introduction.

Set the Band Selection Mode

1. Select SettingsNetwork Select, the Band Selection Mode is shown in the following figure:

2. Choose the Band Selection Mode.

• Automatic: The system selects the network automatically by the user’s selected rules and the network status.

• Manual: The network is selected by users themselves.

When the Manual is selected, click Apply button to search the network. Wait a minute, the supplier list will show as following picture:

Select the network that the supplier is utilized to serve your (U)SIM.

3. Click Apply to confirm.

View the Wireless Network Info

1. Select StatusNetwork StatusWireless Info to access the following figure:

2. Click Refresh to update the information.

 

Surfing on the Internet

You can use the default configuration to access the Internet. If you want to change the settings, please refer to the following introduction.

Set APN parameters

1. Select ConnectionAPN Settings to access the following figure:

2. Set the related parameter.

Parameter

Description

APN Setting

APN address mode. If a fixed APN is provided by your service provider, select Manual APN. Otherwise select the Auto APN, and the device will automatically obtain this parameter.

Profile Selection

Choose the desired profile.

APN

Access Point Name.

DNS

If a fixed IP address is given by your service provider, then choose Manual DNS. Otherwise, choose Auto DNS, and device will automatically obtain parameters.

Authentication

Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) provides a simple method without encryption for the peer to establish its identity using a 2-way handshake. Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) is used to periodically verify the identity of the peer using a 3-way handshake.

User Name

User name is used to obtain authentication from the ISP when the connection is established.

Password

Password is used to obtain authentication from the ISP when the connection is established.

 

Click Set default to set the current profile as the default profile.

If Manual APN is selected, the following picture will display:

Click Add to define a new APN profile, and then click Save to save the profile.

Select one profile and click Delete to delete it.

 Notes:

You cannot edit or delete the current default APN profile..

Set WAN Connection Mode

1. Select ConnectionDial Up to access the following figure:

2. Set the WAN Connection Mode.

There are three connection modes:

• Always On: The device will automatically connect to WAN when it is powered on.

• Manual Connect: Connect to the Internet manually.

• On Demand: Disconnect from the Internet automatically when reach the predefined max idle time.

Click Apply to confirm your configuration.

Connect to the Internet

1. Click Home to access the following figure:

2. Click Connect to access to the Internet.

View the Statistics

1. Select SettingsAdvancedStatistics to access the following figure:

2. Click Refresh to update the information of statistics. Click Clear to clear the statistics.

 

SMS

This function allows you to send or receive short messages.

Set SMS parameters

1. Select SMSSMS Settings to access the following figure:

Parameters

Validity

Configure the validity period of outgoing messages

Center Number

Enter the short message center number, detailed please consult your service provider

Save New Message

Select the device or SIM card to save your messages

Delivery Report

Receive or reject a popup message to inform you when the message is delivered to the recipient

 

Send a new message

1. Select SMSNew Message to access the following figure:

2. Enter the recipient’s phone number.

3. Enter a message.

4. Click Send to send the message.

Read Short Message

When there is a new short message, the system will inform you with the following figure:

1. Click Yes to confirm.

2. Select SMS > Device/SIM Card > Inbox to access the following figure:

3. Select the new message.

4. Click View to read it.

SMS Operation Guide

You can check the messages saved in your device or SIM Card.

Inbox

Select SMS > Device/SIM Card > Inbox to access the following figure:

All the received messages saved will be displayed here.

• Click View to view the selected message.

• Click Reply to reply to the selected message sender.

• Click Delete to delete the selected message.

• Click Delete All to delete all the messages.

Outbox

Select SMS > Device/SIM Card > Outbox to access the following figure:

All the successfully sent messages will be displayed here.

Drafts

Select SMS > Device/SIM Card > Drafts to access the following figure:

All the drafts and unsuccessfully sent messages will be displayed here.

• Click View to access the selected message edited interface, then click Send to send it.

 

Phonebook

This function allows you store and edit contacts.

Add a new contact

1. Select Phonebook > Add New to access the following figure:

2. Set the related parameters.

Select the device or SIM card to save your contacts

Enter the contact’s name

Enter the contact’s phone number

3.  Click Save to confirm your configuration.

 

Edit a contact

1. Select Phonebook > Device/SIM card.

2. Select the contact which you want to edit.

3. Click Edit.

4. Edit the contact.

5. Click Save to confirm.

Delete contacts

1. Select Phonebook > Device/SIM card.

2. Select the contact which you want to delete.

3. Click Delete to delete the contact. Or Click Delete All to delete all contacts directly.

 

Others

View Status

1. Select Status > Basic Status to access the following figure:

2. Click Refresh to update the information.

Restore Factory Defaults

1. Select Settings > Advanced > Restore to access the following figure:

2. Click Restore to set all the settings to their factory default values.

3. Click Yes to confirm. And the device will restart automatically.

Enabling PIN Code

PIN code is the personal identification code of (U)SIM card, used to avoid illegal usage for your (U)SIM card. Once PIN code is enabled, the correct PIN code should be input when you login at the first time.

1. Select Settings > Advanced > PIN Management to access the following figure:

2. Set the parameters.

3. Click Apply to confirm.

 Notes:

Three times consecutive wrong PIN code entries will block the (U)SIM card. The detailed information please contacts your service provider.

Modifying PIN Code

1. Select Settings > Advanced > PIN Management to access the following figure:

2. Select Modify for the action.

3. Type the old PIN code.

4. Type twice the new PIN code

5. Click Apply to confirm.

USSD

This function allows you to inactive with the service provider.

1. Select Settings > Advanced > USSD to access the following figure:

2. Input the service number which you want to send.

3. Click Send to confirm.

STK

1.      Select Settings > Advanced > STK to show some services which your (U)SIM card provides.

2.      Check the box before the service.

3.      Click Apply to active it.

FAQ

If you encounter problems while using the device, or if it performs erratically, you can consult the information in the chart below. If your particular problem cannot be resolved using the information in the chart, contact the dealer where you purchased the device.

When the Device is connected, the computer cannot find it.

The device is not connected properly.

1 Restart the computer, or reconnect the device.

2. Insert the device to another computer.

Cannot open the WEBUI configuration page automatically after the device is connected properly.

The system configuration is having difficulty with the auto-run software.

1.      Close all the anti-virus functions

2.      The device will appear as a virtual CDROM on the PC’s. Click on the icon and start the AutoRun.exe.

3. Double click  icon on the desktop.

After restarting the computer, there is no signal indicated.

1. You are in the place where there is no GSM/ GPRS /EDGE /WCDMA /HSDPA(HSUPA) network coverage. Such places include underground parking garages, tunnels, and some remote rural areas.

1. Change location to find a good where having signal.

2. The device is not properly connected.

2. Close the device safely as usual, pull out the device and reinsert the device again.

3. The (U)SIM card isn't inserted properly.

3. Remove and reinsert the (U)SIM card correctly.

4. The MODEM device is positioned in such a way as that adversely affects the devices signal reception.

4. Adjust the angle / position of the MODEM device or its proximity to other electronic devices.

Sent Message failure.

1. The SMS center number is incorrect.

1. Your device is preconfigured so it is unlikely that it will need changing. However if it is missing or incorrect contact your operator.

2. The network is busy or you are in an area with no signal.

2. Try later or move to an area with a stronger signal.

Data connection failed.

1. You are in the place where there is no GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE/ WCDMA/ HSDPA(HSUPA) network coverage.

3. The APN in the user configuration file is incorrect.

3. Check the APN in the user configuration file in the "Network settings".

4. The device data is corrupted.

4. Local network access or the target server maybe experiencing problems. Retry data request.

5. The network type has been selected manually, but is incorrect.

5. Reselect the network type according to the type of the (U)SIM card.

Connected to the Internet, but it cannot open any website page.

1. After connection, you are unable to open web pages.

1. Check that the APN in the configuration files is correct.

2. IE browser is causing problems.

2. Upgrade to the new version or reinstall the IE browser.

3. Your operating system maybe infected by a virus. Worm Blaster for example can affect upload and downloaded data flow, resulting in an inability to access a website.

3. Use the professional anti-virus software to check and remove the virus.

4. You have connected to an APN which cannot connect to the Internet.

4. This happens when you are changing any preset operator value in the setting section. Check the entry and enter the correct APN from your operator.
